Welcome to the dancing buffaloes of Dala, Yangon. Not quite ballet dancing but equally as important. Every year these dancing buffaloes hit the streets of Yangon to raise money for their local temple in Dala.
The money raised is donated during the Full Moon of Tazaungmone, held to celebrate the end of Kahtein season, during which monks are offered new robes and alms.
Despite the day being acknowledged as a Buddhist festival, it has strong links to Hindu celebrations.
You can join in the Full Moon of Tazaungmone celebrations at nearly every pagoda and monastery in Myanmar on the full moon of November, which this year falls on the 14 November. Donations joyfully accepted.
