As 22nd March 2016, Air Asia has direct flights from Yangon International Airport to Penang, Malaysia. The flights run 3 times a week and are usually around USD nett 200.

The Penang Island is known for its historical preservation, street art, beaches and multiculturalism. A weekend in the main city of George Town was detailed by contributing blogger for Myanmore, Cristina Maria Chiorean.

Search Air Asia to see if you can visit Penang this season. The amount of airlines in Myanmar is set to expand dramatically, especially with the development of the Bago airport and other northern cities. European, American and Middle Eastern airlines have yet to introduce direct flights to Yangon but this may change as well. Stick with MYANMORE for special deals and news on air travel.
