Expect to pay between 1,000Ks and 6,000Ks per ticket.

NAY PYI TAW CINEMA
Yangon’s most popular cinema screens a lot of foreign movies and sometimes hosts international film festivals. Its 1970s chic, and has 3D offerings and very cool aircon. The local popcorn is worth a try, sweet not salty. It has a great architectural façade, that is very funky.

THWIN CINEMA
Screens mostly Burmese films, and is more downbeat than the modern complexes. Great place to check out the local scene and soak up the atmosphere. Cheap and homely.

Thamada is a national treasure. With its beautiful design and architecture, it’s worth visiting just to experience it’s pure 1950 retro feel. Screens mostly Burmese films, especially comedies.
