WHAT IT IS

The story of The Cave begins when a lot of Thai people started to relocate to Myanmar for businesses, after the country has emerged from isolation. As the group grows, the idea of opening their own “hang out” place sprung. The idea is to relocate a local Thai bar in Bangkok to Yangon with the mix of international vibe. The Cave is the first and only exclusive Thai bar in Yangon.

ATMOSPHERE

Located on the second floor of the popular Adamas restaurant, the name of the bar is derived from the location that looks like a cave hidden inside the Andaman Sea.  It may seem a bit hard to find; go into Adamas restaurant and ask for directions.

The bar is decorated in white with a long sofa bed set against a wall which makes it look like a huge living room. Oil drums become the tables. This somewhat makes the Cave a perfect place for chilling and networking. You will get to meet, talk and socialize with a group of their owners who take turns to have a chat.  Expect many rounds of “Cheers”!

To keep the place vibrant, live bands are featured every day, playing both international and Thai songs. Late night Thai songs karaoke is also available.

RECOMMENDATION

Hungry? Not a problem. Food can be ordered from Adamas restaurant. Recommended on menu are Salty Fried Chicken (Gai Tod Gleu), Spicy Minced Beef ( Larb Nua) , and the seafood plates.

Highlights of alcoholic beverages are the very strong Thai whisky such as Sangsom, Regency, and Thai beers, such as, Chang, Leo, and Singha. Also, stay tuned for more imported beer in bottles to be added on the list.

The best time to go to The Cave is on weekends or on a big soccer match day; weekdays are suitable for those seeking a quiet night.
